The United States suffers an unacceptable rate of gun violence because we are the only country in the entire world which allow residents to purchase, own and carry guns designed solely for tactical purposes, i.e., shooting human beings.

Such weapons are carried by law enforcement agents and military units in order to maintain community safety and national security. They have no place and no reason to be present in normal, everyday work or leisure activities.
